The promoter: of this prize competition is BMJ Publishing Group Limited of BMA House, Tavistock Square, London, WC1H 9JR (BMJ).

To enter: you must successfully complete and submit the BMJ OnExamination User Feedback Survey, following the instructions for submission provided by BMJ. You must include your email address. By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. No purchase is necessary, but you must have used OnExamination to revise for at least one examination. Once your entry is submitted your contact information may not be amended. All entries and any accompanying material submitted to BMJ will become the property of BMJ on receipt and will not be returned. By submitting your competition entry and any accompanying material, you agree to: (a) assign to BMJ all your intellectual property rights with full title guarantee; and (b) waive all moral rights, in and to your competition entry and otherwise arising in connection with your entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.

Close: All competition entries must be received by BMJ by no later than [23.59 hours] on 31st May 2024 (Closing Date). Entries received after the Closing Date will be automatically disqualified. BMJ accepts no responsibility for entries which are not successfully received due to a technical fault, malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure or any kind. Proof of transmission as proof of entry to the competition will not be accepted. Competition entries cannot be returned.

Eligibility: The competition is open to all [UK] [residents aged 18 years or over OR qualified healthcare professionals], except employees of BMJ, their families, agents or any third party directly associated with administration of the competition. Entries are limited to one entry per person and entries made on behalf of another person and joint entries are not permitted. BMJ reserves the right to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit of the draw, harmful to BMJ’s reputation or in breach of these terms.

The prize: is [the purchase price made will be refunded] There [are only] [5] prizes available to be won. The prize is [subject to availability and is] non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered. BMJ reserves the right to substitute the prize with an alternative prize of equal value.

Announcement of winner: [5] winners will be selected by random draw performed by a computer process and announced on BMJ’s SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT within one month after the Closing Date. Once a selection has been made, the decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into. BMJ will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after the Closing Date, using the contact information provided on entry. To comply with its legal obligations, BMJ will send the surname, region and country of residence of major prize winners to anyone who emails support@bmj.com. If an entrant objects to their surname, region and country or residence being made available they must contact support@bmj.com..

Claiming the prize: BMJ will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available to receive the prize, BMJ reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible runner up entrant. BMJ accepts no responsibility if the entrant is unable to take up or otherwise receive the prize. Please allow 14 days for delivery of the prize.

Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, BMJ will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate any respondent or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of this draw, except where it is caused by the negligence of BMJ. Entrants’ statutory rights are not affected.

General: BMJ reserves the right to void, suspend, cancel, or amend the competition where it becomes necessary to do so. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Where BMJ receives a request for the surname and geographical area of a person who has won, we are under a legal obligation to provide that information. However, this is limited to the data required by law,
Where BMJ is running a competition with a partner, or where a prize is supplied by a third party, data will be shared to the extent necessary to administer the event and deliver the prize.
How long will you keep information about me?
We typically hold personal data relating to competitions and prize draws for up to six months following the close of the competition. This is in order to allow time to administer the competition and contact entrants.
