As in everyday life and clinical practice, abnormalities of gait
appear in the PACES section of the MRCP examination. With a battery
of clinical skills at your disposal, you may be able to diagnose
the condition just as a patient walks into your clinic and long
before you have taken a history and examined the patient.
This tutorial presents a classification of various commonly
encountered abnormalities of gait, supported by illustrations and
provides a suggested sequence of examination steps designed to
reach a diagnosis. Examples of normal and abnormal gaits are
presented together with lists of various underlying causes.
The original programme was made with the help of expert
neurologists.
