Management of Dyslipidaemia

The management of dyslipidaemia poses some specific problems in clinical practice such as when to introduce therapy; what therapy to introduce; and how to monitor the effects of therapy. The resource will sharpen your skills in this area which is an integral component of the GMS contract.

This module will allow you to:

• Interpret lipid profiles and develop management strategies based on primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease.
• Understand the use of specific therapies in the treatment of dyslipidaemia and the effects on cardiovascular risk.
• Understand the appropriate monitoring and supervision of agents used in the treatment of dyslipidaemia.
